Q:Hey! I just started reading The Watcher by James Howe and I'm about halfway and it's absolutely magnificent! I was wondering if you read it and what your thoughts on it were?
I have read it! It was a long time ago though, but I remember being rather devastated by an element that arises in the second half. Reading it was like swimming with shoes on, heavy but it had to be done. Maybe it’s not even as dark as I remember, but it’s been six some years now and I just remember being saddened by it.
Soon after reading it for the first time, I went to a small group discussion with Mr. Howe and demanded to know why he made the book so sad, because I was personally offended by how it made me feel.
